Application Process:

All potential families complete an application before being considered for a kitten or cat. This helps me ensure the best possible match between cat and family.

The application covers:

  • Your household and life style

  • Experience with cats, Maine Coon Cats specifically

  • Veterinary References

  • Your expectations and understanding of the breed

What to expect:

  1. Initial Contact: Send me an email introducing yourself.

  2. Application: I’ll send an application to get to know you better.

  3. Phone/Video Chat: We’ll talk, live.

  4. Matching: If approved, we’ll choose the right kitten for your household.

  5. Updates: You will receive regular updates, and videos as the kitten grows.

  6. Pick-up: Kittens go home between 14 - 16 weeks, fully vetted, microchipped and socialized.

A note about Placement:

I take placement seriously. Every kitten and cat from Indra’s Net comes with a lifetime commitment - I will always take them back rather than see them in a shelter or unsuitable home. I remain primary contact on the microchip.

My screening process is thorough because I’ve learned hard lessons about fast trust. I am looking for families who understand that The Maine Coon Cat is a 15-20 year commitment, who value health and temperament over fads and ‘size’ claims. I look forward to families keeping me updated throughout their cat’s life.
